This relatively simple 2.4 GHz receiver uses parts that are easier to work with and more available than those usually considered for microwave hardware. For example, it uses conventional disc ceramic capacitors, JA W resistors and UHF monolithic amplifiers rather than chip components and ultraminiature amplifiers. The design is set up so that none of the circuits using UHF components operate above 1.2 GHz.
